The gas pedal gives you energy and momentum and makes you move forward in life. But to do so, it needs inspiration from the 5th function, which serves the role of giving fuel and energy to you. The gas pedal stands in relationship to the inferior function, which serves as the brakes or the reverse. Using the brakes drives a feeling of increased stress, but also helps you avoid a crash or collision. The eight function serves as your warning system, and is represented by anxiety.
